Limited Edition Silk Square

We are delighted to be collaborating with Harper’s Bazaar in the recreation of Richard Allan’s original silk square design for the magazine. First produced in 1964, but not seen for over fifty years, it is now reimagined in contemporary colours.

Harper’s Bazaar started in 1867 aimed at an audience of “discerning ladies,……..women who are the first to buy the best, from casual to couture”. In the 1960s under the editorships of Diana Vreeland and Richard Avedon, Richard Allan was commissioned to produce the ‘Harper’s’ silk square. The hand-lettered design based on the Harper’s Bazaar masthead became an instant classic, able to enhance any outfit and timelessly elegant.

Today, Richard’s daughter Cate, has again teamed up with Harper’s Bazaar to create an updated colour version of the original in a limited edition for Harper’s readers.

Lucky purchasers will also benefit from a discount on the Autumn/Winter range of men’s and women’s scarves and pocket squares launching in September, available at William&Son, Mayfair, and online direct from Richard Allan London.
